Rock out with your…
So, I went and did it. What can I say, I couldn't help myself. When you've been salivating over something for as long as I have this, you can't just ignore it when you finally find it. I think I hesitated for all of half-of-a-minute, during which I circled my prey, sniffing the air, wondering if this would pay off. Well, in fact, I knew it wouldn't pay off. If anything, I would be paying out. I guess I was really wondering if this could be wrong, since if felt so right.
In the end, I took the giant Rock Band box to the till, and walked out with a much lighter wallet, but a box full of fun. (We won't get into how I could justify the cost, given my current financial situation.)
You probably want a review of the game. Ok, here it is: I rock. After playing the game, I've discovered that I don't want to work, I just want to bang on the drums all day. Yeah, I can finally relate to that old cliche. Playing a fake guitar is fun, sure, but banging on shit is visceral. You feel like a two-year-old that just found the pot cupboard.
Hell, Rock Band has even turned S into a musician, which is no small feat, I'll tell you - I'm not being mean here, she's a fine vocalist, and she's slowly finding her inner rhythm. It just all happened to be repressed before, and is now coming to the surface. And all this from a video game.
It's a good thing that it's in Guelph and not London.
I concur. Rock Band saved my life! Well... maybe not but it still rocks! After a lifetime of not singing out loud, I've come out of my shell. And, despite failing out of my first drum-playing session, I picked up the sticks following A's departure to hone my skills away from prying eyes and discovered that I do have a hint of rhythm. I earned 3 stars on every song I tried ( about 8 ) on easy and got 4 stars on a song by Garbage. I also scored 91% on that song and finished with an average of around 75%. Not too shabby if I do say so myself!
Nice work Sarah! I'm thinking of starting up the official "It's Not Lupus!" fan club ... oh wait, can I do that if I'm in the band ... oh alright, I'll make it a myspace page
The drums are quite fun. I'm tempted, but the serious lack of green Lizzies in my wallet, thesis writing and lack of space for more game peripherals will be keeping RB out of my house for a while.
Hey, thin Lizzies didn't stop me! But you cooulld just get the game.. continue the band over the Live.
And for those that want to know, I'm a member of three bands now:
Masters of Science!
It's not Lupus!
The Pope's Nose
Truth: I've wanted to start a band called the pope's nose since, like, forever ago.
Interesting... I'm in all those bands too! We must be really big Rock Band stars!
