You should have listened the first time.
Hi there, it's me again. So I think I mentioned that my computer pooped out on me. When I got back from the hospital (after leaving the computer on for 4 days), it just didn't want to start again. Now it's in the shop, hopefully being diagnosed so I can get it running again.
Of course, with my computer gone, all my mp3s are gone too. So, when I'm working on my computer, I have to find other ways of listening to music.
Right now, that other way is the muxtape. I actually wrote about the muxtape back in March, but just in this past week I've had people say "where do you find this stuff?" and "Muxtape? Is that a band?", so here I go again.
A muxtape is a just a mixtape that people create, upload to the muxtape website, and share it. Anyone can go and listen to them. Simple. Ingenious.
I'm going to help you out, though, because while muxtapes are great, what takes it to the next level is being able to search them. MuxFind and MuxtapeStumbler let you search for an artist (or song), and discover what muxtapes have those artists. It's a jumping off point for discovering new stuff. You never know what someone will throw in their mix.
Update: if you create a muxtape account, you can scrobble listened tracks to last.fm. Man, the internet is great.
Here's some mixes I like. Share your faves. Upload a mix, share it with us.

I would like to point out that I saw you listening to this and I did not ask any of those questions. I remembered muxtape. Just wanted to be clear.

The only problem I have with muxtape is that you can only use mp3 format so if all your music is in an iTunes format, you can't make a playlist.
Thanks Andrew, I've been spending an entertaining Sunday afternoon exploring - who knew that there were people with as weird tastes in music as me? (I found a muxtape that had songs by Leonard Cohen, Great Big Sea, They might be giants, Bedouin Soundclash, Dropkick Murphys, Dixie Chicks and Be Good Tanyas (too bad only half the muxes actually play on my computer for some reason))
