Here I am, right here.
Hiya.
I'm fresh out of my first class (consumer health information), and frankly, I'm already exhausted. I'm not blaming that course, it actually promises to be very interesting. In fact, I'm already thinking about writing my first paper with some relish. Or mustard. (Here's a thought-teaser for you: When you want some health information, where/what do you turn to first? If you were creating an ranked list of those sources, where would 'physician' be on that list?). One of the bummer parts of being back in class is that I know almost nobody in the program anymore. Being a loner sucks.
In order to attend my first class, I needed to be in London. So, here I am. I have a sparsely decorated dark apartment to sleep in one or two nights a week, and I have successfully taken a new bus route to get to school. It's kind of difficult planning to live in a place in such a limited manner. How many clothes should I bring? How many 'things' do I really need to have there? S and I went out grocery shopping, and I managed to spend a fortune in almost entirely non-perishable and frozen food items - the goal being that I won't have to shop again for months. But then I realized that I didn't have a can opener. In a lovely bit of happenstance, my new apartment is within walking distance of a Zellers, Giant Tiger and Talize. Value shopping at its finest!
Speaking of food, I've done some wicked culinary creating of late, and I'll share it with you in a future post.
Yours in spirit,
fang
Bi-weekly commutes from London to Guelph? No wonder you are tired. How long does that take you?

Happy Belated Birthday, my friend!
To answer your question: Not sure how this will all work out yet. S may let me borrow her wheels, in which case I could drive in Thursday morning, and back on Friday evening. The trip by car can be done in less than two hours. Traveling by bus or train ends up being longer, unfortunately, and I haven't decided how that will work yet. Train is a nicer ride, and shorter, but the schedule isn't as good as the bus.
