Ok, on the scale of one to awesome, this rates a genuine "whoop-ee-ding!".
Maybe I'm being melodramatic, but seriously: a Halloween party celebrating 'The Shining' at the actual Timberline Lodge! Wow. Remember when I wrote that someday I wanted to visit the lodge? It's going to be themed like the cocktail party Jack witnesses in his dealings with the devil at the bar, all 20's formal attire.
Now then, does someone want to buy me an early Christmas gift?

Only some of the exterior shots were filmed at Timberline. The maze and the interior were all sets in England. The inside looks nothing like the movie... because it wasn't in the movie, at all.

As an added bonus, they just emailed the ticket holders to say that in addition to the 20s-era ball, they'll be screening themed 16mm educational films in a separate room, with titles like Ready To Type, Don't Be Afraid, Surviving The Cold, and Is A Career In The Hotel Or Motel Business For You?
I can't wait.
Promise to report back on how amazing it was? Also, don't get lost in the garden maze.
Will do... I'm spending this weekend getting my 20s-era formal wear together. I think the only thing I'm still missing is a tuxedo shirt. Otherwise I'm in good shape...
